WebCD Globe Connection Options

Access this dialog by selecting Options from the Build menu and then clicking the Connection tab.

All options on this dialog are global. That is, these options will be the defaults for all future projects created. Of course, you can modify the settings within an individual project as needed.

Proxy Server Note: WebCD Packager uses Microsoft Internet Explorer's proxy settings. To set proxy options, from within Microsoft Internet Explorer, select Options from the View menu. Then click on the Connection tab.

Authentication

Use this section to supply authentication information to the WebCD Packager browser. The information supplied here can affect what is retrieved from your site!

HTTP User Name
Some pages request entry of a username and password to gain access. If you will be retrieving pages that require authentication information, enter the username and password here prior to starting retrieval. Entry of this information here ahead of time allows you to leave during retrieval of your site rather than having to be present to enter the authentication information.
Enter the username for the page(s) you will be retrieving.

HTTP User Password
Enter the password for the page(s) you will be retrieving.
FTP User Name
Most FTP sites request entry of a username and password to gain access. If you will be retrieving pages from an FTP site, enter the username and password here prior to starting retrieval. Entry of this information here ahead of time allows you to leave during retrieval of your site rather than having to be present to enter the authentication information.
Enter the username for the FTP site from which you will be retrieving. For most FTP sites this is "anonymous". WebCD Packager uses "anonymous" as the FTP User Name if no user name is entered.

FTP User Password
Enter the password for the FTP site you will be retrieving. For most FTP sites this is your e-mail address. If you are unsure, enter your e-mail address as the password.

Identification

HTTP User Agent
One HTTP header field specifies "who" is requesting information. Many times this information is used by CGI scripts to handle a request differently, based on the requester.

If you use WebCD regularly to download Web content from your site, you can customize the information returned from your Web site based on if the request is coming from a regular user or if WebCD is retrieving your site (i.e., User Agent = WebCD Packager).

Enter your name or company name or make a choice from the drop-down list. Choices available in the list box include:

WebCD Packager
Mozilla/1.22 (compatible)
Mozilla/2.01 (compatible)
Mozilla/2.0 (compatible; MSIE 3.0; Windows 95)
Mozilla/3.0 (Win95; I)
